Passports

Travelling By Air
Please make sure you check your flight times very carefully and ensure you check in as per the instructions of the relevant airline. Baggage allowances should also be double checked as airlines vary. Increased security at airports means you must get there early.  Some airlines may ask you to wear a mask on the flight so check this in advance.

Travelling By Train
Ensure that you check your tickets for exact departure times and that you arrive at the terminal with time to spare. When the train arrives at Moutiers train station disembark here! We will have a minibus waiting for you. Go to the main entrance where you will see a taxi rank. Wait outside the main entrance with your luggage, where one of our drivers will meet you and take you to resort.

NB: Please let our UK office know your travel details well in advance of travelling so we can include you on our Weekly Airport/Station Return Transfer Schedule.

Travelling By Car
How to get to Courchevel? Basically follow the map to Lyon and then take the motorway to Chambery and Albertville. On arrival in Albertville you will see Moutiers signposted. Follow the signs for Moutiers. When you arrive in Moutiers, Courchevel is well signposted and Courchevel Le Praz is about a 25 minutes drive from Moutiers. Le Praz is the first of four Courchevel villages.

Chalet Parking
You have already been invited to pre-book a chalet parking space if you are driving.   We have a limited number of parking spaces in resort and parking spaces are reserved strictly on a first-booked basis.  You may have been allocated a parking space at another chalet, other than the one where you are staying.  If all parking spaces have been allocated you can book a parking space at The Alpinium in Le Praz (covered, payable parking and subject to availability).  Your chalet parking space will be reserved from early evening on your day of arrival until late afternoon on your day of departure (as the majority of guests driving choose to ski on their departure day).  If you arrive earlier and your parking space is still occupied by departing guests (and no other skivo parking space is available) then we invite you to park at The Alpinium for the day.

Arrival
When you arrive at the airport or station you will be met by a skivo2 representative holding either a skivo sign or a board with your name. He or she will arrange your transfer to Courchevel where our chalet staff will meet you and show you to your chalet. The transfer will take:

From Moutiers – 25 minutes

From Chambery – 1 hour 15 minutes

From Geneva – 2 hours

From Lyon and Grenoble – 2 hours

The times vary from week to week dependent upon traffic flow and peak holiday dates.

The chalets
All our chalets are situated centrally.

Check in is at 15:00hrs (you are welcome to drop off luggage before this and leave in the communal areas).  A member of our chalet team will be there to greet you on check in, offer a welcome drink and see you are settled in to the chalet and have everything you need.

Catering in our chalets
Breakfast is served between 08:00 – 09:00hrs, afternoon tea will be set out and available for you every day and pre dinner snacks are served at 19:30hrs with dinner served at 20:00hrs.

If pre-requested a Kids’ Tea will be served around 18:00hrs.

Chalet staff days off
The chalet staff have 2 days off – Monday and Wednesday or Thursday (tbc). Breakfast and a cake for afternoon tea will be left out for you.  Rooms are not serviced on these days. Our resort staff will be happy to make recommendations and arrange restaurant bookings for you on their nights off.

Towels and toiletries
Towels are supplied in the chalets. One bath towel and one hand towel per guest is supplied.

If there is a hot tub or sauna at your chalet you will be supplied with one extra bath towel.

Handsoap is supplied in our chalets but please ensure you bring other toiletries with you.

Dietary requirements
If anyone in your party has any specific dietary requirements then please ensure that you have advised the UK office at least 3 weeks in advance of your holiday departure date.

Ski equipment hire
Once you have settled into your rooms, we will organise a convenient time for ski fitting. All skis and boots will be fitted in Chalet Nicola, where we have our own ski and boot department, with a wide selection of the best Dynastar skis and Lange boots available. You have had the option to prebook and prepay for ski hire in sterling before your holiday.  If you haven’t done so then don’t worry – you can still use our ski hire and payment is in euros cash only (we don’t have the facility to take payment by card for ski hire).

If you wish to take out ski insurance against loss or damage this is available to purchase in resort at 20 euros for the week (payable in euros cash).  Lost, damaged or stolen skis are charged at £350 per set if you have not taken out skivo ski insurance.

Click here to view our ski hire costs.  Euro prices will apply if ski hire hasn’t arleady been booked and prepaid.

Ski pass
You will have completed a Ski Pass Pre Order form in advance of your holiday.  Your ski pass will be ready and waiting for you on arrival.  All you have to do is collect and pay for it.

Paying for your ski pass
Our Resort Manager is often in ski hire on Saturdays and can take payment for your ski pass whilst you collect/arrange your ski hire.  If you are going to our ski hire department please take your method of payment with you for your ski pass (credit card or euros).

Alternatively if you don’t need ski hire or miss her there, she will then visit you in your chalet upon arrival on the Saturday to deliver your pass and to take payment. Everyone will then be ready to hit the slopes first thing.

Due to British banks attempting to reduce the fraudulent use of credit cards we have found some difficulties in their processing. Whilst, in most cases, payment was eventually authorised, some guests experienced delay in obtaining lift passes and additional cost in telephoning their banks at home. In order to ensure swift and smooth lift pass purchases this season we would advise that clients:

  1. a) Advise their bank of their intention to use their credit card for large transactions.
  1. b) Credit card transactions are processed via a French credit card machine and your credit card supplier will apply their relevant euro / sterling exchange rate.
  1. c) Arrive in resort with sufficient cash funds in Euros to cover the cost of their passes if paying cash.

Foreign currency
On top of the money you will need for your ski pass, it is advisable to bring some Euro currency with you. In the village there is a cash dispenser and, there are obviously plenty of banks in 1850, but you often find the exchange rate is better in the UK.

Ski coaching
After dinner on the first evening Dave Beattie (our Managing Director) will visit you in your chalet to have a chat with everyone and organise appropriate skiing groups. This may involve a short ski-off in the morning to establish ski levels. The group size will be between five and nine people and coaching lasts for 2 hours per day over 5 days (Wednesday excluded).

The courses are structured to suit individual requirements. More than anything the ski courses are designed to improve your skiing and for you to have fun!

If you have pre-requested a specific ski lesson time please be aware that whilst we are not able to guarantee this in advance, Dave does his very best to accommodate all requests.
